Spring Equinox Greetings Beautiful People,
Today we celebrate the festival of the Spring Equinox - the season of fertility, abundance, and new possibilities. The trees are budding, the flowers are blooming and the animals are frolicking and nesting. While we’ve been living in exceptionally troubled times, the wheel of the year keeps turning and we enter the second half of the season of illumination. The days are getting longer and the sun stronger, as we advance towards its peak which takes place on the Summer Solstice (June 20th, 2021), three months from today. The Spring Equinox also known as Ostara, represents the balance of the forces - light and dark, masculine and feminine and hot and cold.
As we have been tending to our inner gardens, searching for balance in this new way of life, we have been forced to go beyond the familiar and push through limitations. We have learned from history, that adversity and suffering bring awakening, change and realization. It is important to remember this in our current time.
Kate’s Magik has also faced hardship with so many of our customers struggling to keep their doors open and no testers on the shelves for sampling scents. But it forced us to go deeper, be closer, get more creative and raise the vibration of what we do and how we do it. The people who work for and with me have proven to be exceptional beings that have raised the bar of their contributions to my company and I am delighted to have such a dignified team by my side. We are also highly appreciative of Sprouts Farmers Market for calling on me to carry Kate’s Magik products, just as sales took an alarming dive in March 2020 - a tremendous blessing that kept my employees working and brought sacred, therapeutic oils to 360 stores across the country. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I could write a book about all that has transpired for me personally, Kate’s Magik, my friends, family, and community over the past 13 months, and most likely you could too. As we reflect on all the deaths, births, surgeries, breakups, blessings, suicides, miracles, depressions, political, social and racial events since the 2020 Spring Equinox, all we can do is marvel in astonishment. These sure are progressive times we are living in. And yes, they are difficult times and may well continue to be so, as we face the many challenges of a material world gone wrong, but these are also times of awakening, healing, reconfiguration and new possibilities. So we need to stay on it, keep reinventing ourselves, finding new ways, visualizing, praying and putting action into change. Not only for ourselves and those we love, but for our community, our town, our state, our country, our world - natural and material. Our love and support shall not only go to “our kind” or people of our political or religious persuasion, but all kind! I see more togetherness coming after all this isolation.
Today I also want to express my gratitude to our loyal customers, YOU, for continuously supporting this small, all-women run company and for lovingly nurturing yourself with the magikal oils from our sacred planet. I love what I do and am endlessly amazed and fulfilled by the divine essences I work with and the creations that come through me. My perfume club, the Bastet Perfume Society has provided me with the opportunity to work with some of the most rare and exotic natural essences from this planet and upped my skills and mastery. In addition, for the past 18 months I have been conceptualizing and working on a new line of natural perfumes. Stay tuned. My intention is to launch it by the Summer Solstice!
Now, as we continue on our fleeting, earthly journey (!) let us gather our strength and be steadfast on this rocky road called life. May the boundless energy of Spring help raise our vibration, turn our intentions into action and vitality and manifest our inner and outer desires and ambitions.
